Paradise Island Public Boat Landing (Wando River, Mt. Pleasant)

Your average Charlestonian probably doesn’t know the mighty Wando River dries up only a few miles from the ocean. At Paradise Landing, the river is only about a hundred yards across.

North of the Hwy. 41 bridge, Paradise Island Landing is accessible from Hwy. 17 in north Mt. Pleasant.  Look for a brown sign and a left turn approximately 4 miles past the intersection 17 and Hwy. 41.

The upper Wando is beautiful.  Great for fishing, kayaking, crabbing and just enjoying the marsh, head downstream to the bigger reaches of the river or upstream into the winding, dwindling upper reaches.
