Charleston Beaches

  • Capers Island
    Capers Island

For the adventurous, check out remote Capers Island, only accessible by boat. The breezy inlets and boneyard beaches are pretty wild.

  • Folly Beach
    Folly Beach

Folly Beach is the only easy-to-reach beach on the south side of Charleston. It has a very laid back feel. The northern end has a great view of Morris Island Lighthouse and is the home of the best surf in SC, a beach called The Washout.

  • Folly Beach - North End (Morris Island Lighthouse)
Folly Beach - North End (Morris Island Lighthouse)

Not for swimming and sunbathing, my favorite outdoor spot in town, the beach by Lighthouse Inlet is remote and beautiful.

  • Isle of Palms
    Isle of Palms

Isle of Palms is the largest of Charleston's three main barrier islands. The island is community oriented with a thriving commercial center. Wild Dunes, a private golf, tennis and beach resort, is located on the northern end of the island.

  • Sullivan's Island
    Sullivan's Island

Sullivan's Island is the smallest of Charleston's three barrier islands and has an old-time charm. There are some fine restaurants on Middle Street near the main entrance to the island from the Ben Sawyer Bridge.
