Okay, while these are quaint, they’re still alleys. Given its hidden, out-of-the-way nature, an alley is a place where you have to be careful and use basic common-sense public vigilance, especially at night.
Although these are public through-ways at all times and Charleston is a very safe city, please be careful. Try not to walk these streets alone late at night unless you have super kung-fu ninja powers. And if you do, try to be sober and keep your head up.
People live here, too. So please respect their privacy, stay on public property and try not to be noisy at night.
