Opinion: South Carolina Gamecocks, Southern Cal. Trojans should share 'USC'
31 Dec 1969 by Sean in Charleston Sports
I’m a Clemson grad. I’m not a die-hard football fan. Though I do watch Clemson football and basketball when I can. Of course, I would never, ever root for the University of South Carolina on the field. But I’m rooting for the garnet and black in the courtroom.
Last week, an appeals panel ruled that USC is the trademark of the University of Southern California no matter what color. They ruled that USC in garnet and black might be confused with USC in cardinal and gold.
Tickets in short supply as SC Stingrays play annual "Pack the House Night" Saturday

On Saturday, the North Charleston Coliseum is going to party like it’s 1993. The East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) Stingrays have been calling North Charleston home for 17 seasons. The crowds have dwindled since the team’s early years. But this Saturday, the team’s annual “Pack the House Night” offers hockey fans $5 tickets in an effort to sell out their game against the Reading (PA) Royals.
I’m a big hockey fan, and I attended the team’s first and third ever games in 1993. While the fans aren’t making the drive to Montague Ave. like they were back then, the Stingrays have been rolling lately.

The only free golf links in town! Looking to get outside and have a good time honing your golf skills? Try Park Circle’s 18-hole par 3 disc golf course.
The course rounds the outside of Park Circle in North Charleston and is usually not crowded. The bars and restaurants down the street on Montague Ave. make a great 19th hole.
SC Stingrays host ECHL's first carbon-neutral hockey game tonight.

Charleston’s SC Stingrays are putting the focus on the environment tonight as they host the Charlotte Checkers. For the first time in East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) history, tonight’s game will be carbon-neutral thanks to the purchase of carbon credits to offset the energy use for the game.
edit: And they win 3-2 in a shootout!
