The downtown farmers market is full of overpriced edibles.  If you’re looking to save a few bucks and still enjoy the pastoral pomp, try the Tasty Bite stand’s cheese grits for $3.

Find Tasty Bite by heading over to the food trailers and and go to the very end as you’re heading towards the fountain at the intersection of King and Calhoun.  Be sure to take pity on all the people waiting in a long line for a mediocre crepe.

  • It’s TRUE! They’re delicious and scandalously reasonable in their price. And, unlike much of the farmer’s market, they’re not just for tourists. I’m a connoisseur of cheese grits and I can say that the Tasty Bite ones make my Charleston Top 5. Plus, you get to enjoy their buttery goodness while, as was said, watching other people pay twice the amount for something half as good. Delicious breakfast AND unnecessary superiority?! What a treat!
